Medical statistics · Scientific writing

Statistics your reviewers will not send back.

From study design to the written paper.

We design, analyse and write up clinical and health research — from the power calculation before you collect anything, to the results section that survives peer review — and we support master’s and doctoral candidates through the writing of their theses. Reproducible code, reporting-guideline compliant, and explained until you can defend it yourself.

Who this is for

  • Clinicians running a study

You have a research question and access to patients or records, and you need the design to be defensible before you start collecting.

  • MSc and PhD candidates

You need the analysis done properly, explained clearly enough to defend in a viva, and documented so your supervisor can follow it.

  • Departments and research groups

You need statistical capacity for a grant application, a protocol, or a backlog of papers that stalled at the analysis stage.

  • Independent researchers

You are working on a research paper and want support with the statistical analysis and the write-up, before and after submission.

How we work

  1. 01

    The analysis plan comes first

We agree what will be tested, on whom, and how, before the data is looked at.

  2. 02

    Everything is reproducible

You receive version-controlled code — Python or R — that regenerates every number, table and figure in your paper from the raw data.

  3. 03

    Reporting guidelines are followed

CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA or TRIPOD as appropriate to your design, so the submission checklist is already satisfied when you get there.

  4. 04

You are taught, not just handed output

Every deliverable comes with an explanation of what was done and why. If you cannot defend it in a viva or a reviewer response, it is not finished.

Tell us about your study

One paragraph about the design, the nature of your data and what you need is usually enough for us to tell you whether the study answers it as designed, and what would come next.
